Your head weights about 10 pounds, the weight of an average bowling ball. That’s heavy! If your neck isn’t lined up right, your “bowling ball” can create quite a chronic strain on your vertebrae, brain stem, spinal cord, nerves, muscles and discs.

That’s a lot of physical, mental and emotional stress running in the background that you may not even notice because you are used to it.

Try this test on a family member or friend. Ask them to stand straight. Look at them from the side. The center of their ear should line up with the center of their shoulder. If so, they are in alignment. If not, their head’s center of gravity is off!

In fact, for every inch forward the head is in front of the shoulder, the weight multiplies by 10 pounds. Thus, a 3-inch forward shift would be a 30-pound weight on the entire spine. That’s three bowling balls!
